Southdown Security Services Ltd is an independent security company operating throughout East Sussex, with many years of experience in the security industry combined with a unique and specialist knowledge of the area.  Our background know-how includes provision of security for large public and private organisations, local authorities, small businesses, schools and many domestic households, each one having its own particular security needs.

Key Holding & Alarm Response

There are risks associated with responding to alarm activations, so it is advisable to have licensed security personnel attending on these occasions, rather than take those risks yourself or potentially compromise the safety of a family member, friend, neighbour or employee.

A full inspection and risk assessment of your property will be carried out and a written agreement made regarding the services we will provide, also listing any preferred contractors to be contacted if needed for additional services e.g. boarding up, alarm engineers, etc.

 

SOUTHDOWN Key Holding and Alarm Response Service allows you to rest assured that your keys are in safe hands and that we will respond to any alarm calls quickly and professionally.

 

We offer two options as to how your keys are held:

Keys are stored in a secure environment.  In the event of an alarm activation your keys will be collected and deployed immediately to your premises.

 

 

Keys are stored on site using a key vault system.  In the event of an alarm activation, the nearest mobile patrol officer will attend directly.

SOUTHDOWN aim to respond to alarm calls within 20 minutes.  We use tracking and route planning equipment in our vehicles, ensuring that we arrive on site as quickly as possible.

 

Our uniformed officers will arrive on site in a fully liveried patrol vehicle, first carrying out an external patrol of the premises and then an internal inspection to identify the cause of the alarm activation.  We will liaise with the emergency services or any preferred contractors if appropriate.

 

We will always make sure the premises are safe before re-setting the alarm system and leaving.

Mobile Patrols

Our mobile patrol service is an excellent cost-effective defensive measure against trouble makers and criminal trespassers who may intend to cause damage and destruction.  SOUTHDOWN’S licensed and experienced mobile patrol officers are on duty all day, all night, every day of the year, carrying out patrols in and around all types of property.

Mobile patrols are a highly effective visual and physical deterrent to potential wrong-doers.  The presence of a uniformed officer and a fully liveried vehicle is often enough to move unauthorized people off site and deter theft and vandalism.

 

Vacant properties should not be forgotten.  Domestic and commercial letting has seen a high level of potential risk and it is important to maintain security.

We can devise patrol routes around your premises, covering all access points and areas of interest.  Additionally we offer to place strike points at agreed inspection points on your premises that are scanned by our officers enabling us to create a full report of each patrol.

 

Patrols are carried out at random times so that any unwanted visitors, who may be monitoring your property, have no idea when the next patrol will take place.

 

Mobile patrols do not only act as an effective deterrent to criminal activity, but also alert our officers to the threat of potentially damaging incidents, such as fire and flooding.

Locks & Unlocks

If you run a business, it can be difficult to find a reliable and trustworthy key holder to do the daily locks and unlocks at your premises, especially if your business operates late into the evening or overnight.

SOUTHDOWN officers can take responsibility for unlocking and checking the safety of your premises ready for your staff to start work, and return when work is over to lock up.  We can also turn off lights and specified equipment whilst ensuring that all doors and windows are securely closed as we lock down the premises.

 

We can install strike points at agreed inspection points around your premises that are scanned by our officers, enabling us to generate a full, timed report of our visit.

Our officers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.  We can be at your premises at short notice to carry out any extra locking and unlocking duties that you may require.  Perhaps you have staff or contractors requiring access to the premises at weekends or on Bank Holidays?  We are effectively your gatekeepers and merely a phone call away from responding to any access needs at any time.

Static Guarding

Crime surveys and studies have indicated that the most effective deterrent against property crime is to employ an experienced and trained static guard to protect your property.

SOUTHDOWN can provide a bespoke manned guarding service tailored to your requirements, with clear and precise written instructions and guidelines given to our guards.  For example, they may be required to provide a highly visible presence on the site and carry out regular internal and external patrols.  Our smartly uniformed guards are also in routine contact with our control room and will be supported by mobile officers in the area in the event of an emergency.

All of our officers hold a current SIA license and have undergone a DBS check (formerly CRB check).  They have all completed and passed a four day training course prior to receiving specific on-site training.  Our officers will integrate with your team, ensuring a customer-focussed service that meets your security needs.

Facilities Management

Here at SOUTHDOWN, we understand that it is not always possible to justify the cost of employing a guard purely for the purpose of security related duties, which is why we offer our Facilities Management service.

The main focus of our security officers will, of course, be the safety of your staff and security of your premises, but we can also undertake additional business related duties such as:

- Front of house reception or concierge duties

- Responsibility for accepting goods in and internal distribution

- Assisting visitors

- Car park control

- Light cleaning duties

- Administration tasks

We can discuss your security and business needs and together create a package tailored to optimise the efficiency of your organisation.

 

Our security officers are licensed and smartly uniformed, not only presenting a highly visible presence, but also providing a cost effective way to combine guarding with additional duties.

Escorted Services

Should you be concerned with your own safety or that of your nominated key holder, we are able to provide a licensed officer as an escort to attend in potentially risky situations helping to ensure your peace of mind.  These situations could include locking up and leaving premises late at night or attending alarm activations.

SOUTHDOWN licensed officers can also act on your behalf if you require escorted access for a contractor or a member of staff outside normal opening hours.  As instructed, we would either remain at the premises or return at a scheduled time to secure the site, set the alarm and lock up.

Access can also be provided to vacant properties for viewings, inspections and meter readings.
